This Erasmus+ Youth Project supported by Jugend Für Europe and the European Union.

Our project, “EcoMentors: Training Youth Workers for a Greener & Healthier Generation,” aims to transform youth workers into “Eco-Mentors” in ecological literacy and sustainable living coaching.

About the Project: A Greener and Healthier Future
In this intensive 8-day training course in Gelsenkirchen, we will work on innovative methods to translate young people’s climate anxiety (eco-anxiety) into action. 30 youth workers from Germany, Spain, Romania, Latvia, and Hungary will combine theoretical knowledge with practical application under the guidance of expert trainers.

What Are We Aiming For?
Within the scope of our project, our participants will:

Develop Ecological Literacy: Gain in-depth knowledge across a wide range of areas, from biodiversity to the circular economy.

Practical Experience: Examine renewable energy solutions on-site through field visits such as the Gelsenkirchen Science Park (City of the Sun).

Mentoring Skills: Develop “Eco-Mentoring” and advocacy skills to instill environmentally friendly habits in young people.

Sustainable Resources: A “Digital EcoMentors Charter” will be created at the end of the training, providing a guiding resource for NGOs and schools.

Inclusion and International Cooperation
We prioritize equal opportunity by including disadvantaged participants from each partner country in our project. With the guidance of our expert trainer from Turkey and our facilitator from Germany, we will blend sustainability approaches from different cultures.

Investing in the Future: Youthpass
At the end of the training, our participants will receive Youthpass certificates, which document the competencies they have acquired and are recognized throughout Europe. This certificate will be an important stepping stone in the careers and professional development of our youth workers.

As Yunus Emre Gençlik 1993 e.V., we continue to work to build healthier and more resilient communities in harmony with nature. You can follow updates about the project process on our website and social media accounts!
